Redesign

When I launched Start-Playing-Guitar.com, I planned to emphasize purchase advice. In addition, since I knew almost no HTML, my ability to organize and layout the site was limited.

How things have changed.

People keep visiting, I continue to learn (guitar and web development), and the site keeps growing.

As I've posted more articles, including several I've struggled over where to place on the site. As a result, I've occasionally had to search to find articles I knew were there, but couldn't find after a few clicks. If I can't find it, I knew that new users might have problems finding them. So, I decided to reorganize the articles and create a better layout for viewing the site. I've been working on it for over a month.

The new layout is set. I think everyone will find it more attractive and easier to use.

I've also regrouped the articles by topic, compressed many of the graphics for faster loading, and re-written several of the articles to include new information or improve clarity.

As of today, 43 of my 67 pages are ready for testing and final review. Once all pages are reviewed and in the new format, I'll test all the links. Then, finally, I'll post the new format.

In the meantime, you can see a sample here.

The Humidipak Recall

Last month I told you about the Planet Waves Humidipak. This month I have to tell you that some of their humidication packets have been recalled.

If you purchased a Humidipak, check the User Advisory page for details.

You may experience spotting on some of the packets (lot numbers are given on the site). Though not toxic, the solution in the packets may cause irritation to the skin or eyes. See the User Advisory page for more information.

Go For A Big Finish!

I hope you've enjoyed this issue of The Bridge. See you next month!
